Starting to get back to normal?

The second games of the first round have concluded and things are starting to look more like the way they should. The Lakers, Spurs and Magic have come up with their first wins and the other top seeds have pushed their leads out to 2-0.

With the exception of the Heat-76ers series and Game 2 between OKC and Denver the playoffs have been very competitive thus far. The two front runners in the west have got a win, but have not been able to do so convincingly on their home floor. San Antonio were just able to hold off Memphis for 93-87 victory and LA let New Orleans hang around until late in the fourth quarter.

Now as every series moves away we will see how the top seeds handle not being in front of their home crowd. Because of their Game 1 collapse the Lakers and Spurs need to care of business in Game 3 to avoid the potential of a seven game dog fight. What ever happens in the next game of the series I still think both top seeds will get through to the next round, however we’ve seen crazier things happen in the past.

This year’s playoffs are looking to be closer than they have been in recent years with about seven or eight teams that have a legitimate chance to win the NBA crown.

Until next time..
